“Ron, hurry up!” Lacey yelled on her phone.

“Lacey, what is it?” Ron started packing his laptop bag.

“It’s awful, Ron. It’s the worst thing I have ever seen. Help me, Ron!”

Ron stopped mid-packing and raised his eyebrow. He tried hard to sound supportive.

“What exactly is it, honey?”

“It’s-I don’t know what that thing is. It’s black, with long legs. It’s supposed to be a spider, but it’s legs are so long, Ron. You need to come here and eliminate it!” Lacey yelled, holding a bug spray in her hand.

“You’re calling me because of a spider?” Ron asked, unpacking his bag.

“Ron, it is not just a spider. It’s some sort of mutation. I have never seen anything like it!”

“Is it looking at you, like the last one?”

“Of course it is. They lock their eyes with their victims.”

“Lacey, I am sorry, but I can’t leave work over a bug.”

“It’s moving, Ron. Ron, it’s so fast!” Lacey screamed, making Ron push his phone away from his ear.

“It’s as fast as a bike rider? Does it have a bike?” Ron asked.

“Ron! I swear to God. You’re supposed to protect me. It’s in our bedroom, Ron.”

“Good, it can sleep a bit before I come home. Everyone deserves a good sleep before they’re eliminated.”

“You’re just being awful. If you’re calling me, afraid of something, I would come right over. No questions asked.”

“Okay, okay. Where is it now?”

“It just went in my drawer. I wanted to wear those see-through black lace panties you like for when you get home. No way I’m getting near that thing now.”

“Just stay where you are, woman. I’ll be there in ten.” Ron packed his bag and left the office.

“You’re the best, hubby!”
